Mediation Fees

Deposits:

To schedule a mediation, we require a $50 deposit per party. Until we receive the deposit payments, we cannot hold a mediation date. Deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Standard Mediation Fees:

Each party is responsible for a flat rate, $175.00 fee for their 4-hour mediation session or $350.00 for their 8-hour mediation session.

Fees are due prior to the start of the mediation, and deposits will be deducted from the total fees. Mediation fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Mediation Overage Fees:

An additional fee of $75 per hour per party will be charged for mediations exceeding their scheduled time limit.

Methods of Payment:

The DRC accepts cash, checks from an attorney's office, money orders, cashier’s checks, and credit cards. No personal checks will be accepted.

Any return payments will be subject to a $50 return fee.

Rescheduling Fees:

Mediations that need to reschedule will be subject to a $50 rescheduling fee unless the change is processed at least 7 business days before the scheduled date. Parties who have failed to pay the initial deposit will still owe the additional $50 fee.

Waiver/Reduction of Fees

Mediation fees may be reduced or waived for parties who can show financial need. To qualify, each party will need to complete the financial need paperwork, and return it at least 48 hours before their scheduled mediation.

Parties will be notified at least 24 hours before the start of their mediation if a fee reduction has been approved.

Fee reductions will not be processed on the same day as the mediation.

DRC Rescheduling/Cancellation

All mediations at the DRC are conducted by volunteer mediators. While we will do our best to ensure all scheduled mediations take place during their scheduled time slots, we understand that situations can occur that are out of our control.

The DRC reserves the right to reschedule, convert to zoom, or cancel any mediation services due to volunteer mediator cancellations or for any reason that violates the DRC's policies.

Should circumstances arise that result in the rescheduling or cancellation of a mediation by the DRC, we will either issue a full refund or transfer the fees to the future event.
